Emily Elaine is TWO
My sweet angel baby is now two years old. I just cannot believe it. The time is flying by way to quickly with her! She is so much fun right now. I wish we could freeze time! She had an "Elmo" themed birthday party or as Em likes to call him, "Elo." She loves the guy! Of course, we fancied it up a bit because let's face it, Elmo is not the cutest girlie party figure in the world. Actually, we just copied Miss Abby Grace's party because I just had to much going on with a newborn to come up with a creative, extra cute birthday idea for her. Luckily, Lisa did a great job, so we just used her same idea...and some of her same stuff. "Thanks Yassie"
Her party fell on her actual birthday, which I really do NOT like. I like to be able to have her actual birthday all to myself to soak up and enjoy instead of being rushed and distracted by throwing a party. * Mental note made for future birthdays.
We rented a bouncy house (she loves to jump) and she was SOOO excited to see it getting set up in her back yard! I also picked her up an Elmo balloon because the girl LOVES balloons!
It was a little challenging planning/throwing a birthday party with a 5 week old. I was operating on limited sleep, but wanted so much to be able to still enjoy Emily's birthday. After all, she would only have 1, two year old birthday. =) Thankfully, Brandi stepped in to help hold my boy during the party, so I could help Em open her presents. What would I do without that girl?
Emily was super excited about her party. She met one of her favorite
guests, Ms. Damie, outside and helped her carry her gift.
We had lots of friends over. Of course, Miss Abby Grace was dressed the part with her Elmo shirt.

Blowing out the candles was a lot better this year! Last year, she freaked out when her cake was brought to her. I had envisioned such great, fun pics of her digging into her 1st Birthday Cake...yeah, that didn't happen. Boo! But, she loved her cupcake this year. She even liked the singing and candles too and was able to blow them out all by herself!
She got tons of gifts, but her favorite gift was probably the baby doll with baby carrier that Pawpaw gave her. She LOVES baby dolls - such a little mommy.
Of course, Mimi also gave her a special gift. This gift was extra special because she, herself, actually picked out and purchased this gift before she passed away. She bought it several years ago before she ever had grandbabies because she just thought it was cute. She stored it away and we found it while cleaning out her house. When we found it (along with a few other puzzles), we asked her what it was for and she said with tears in her eyes, "it's for my grandbabies."
Another special gift was from Daddy. She loves to go outside in the backyard with him and hit golf balls, so he got her, her very own golf club set! It's super nice and a little old for her, but she'll grow into it. He picked it out all by himself and was so proud of it!
I like to lay out all the gifts after it's said and done and snap a picture of them. I did this while she took a nap, so when she woke up, it was like Santa had come to see her! ha ha! She loved her birthday party!
It's always fun to see what she grabs first. =) Hmm...a camera, wonder where she gets that?
